Brikcius will receive the award for his 2013 collection A tělo se stalo slovem (And the Body Became the Word), which contains all of the author’s poetry and prose as well as his essays on art, literature and culture and his screenplays and radio dramas.

Past winners of the prestigious prize, awarded since 1986 by the Charter 77 Foundation, include Václav Havel, Jáchym Topol and Michal Ajvaz.
